Flow Calculations

This module will calculate flow when Cv and pressures are known.

Upstream Pressure, Cv, Suggested Delta P, Air Temperature, and Specific Gravity for Air.

The flow coefficient (Cv) for the system or component being evaluated.

The air temperature in degrees Fahrenheit. Standard conditions use 68 degrees Fahrenheit.

The pressure available at the input of the system or component being evaluated in gage terms.

The suggested pressure drop across the system or component being evaluated.

The specific gravity for air is 1 at standard conditions. This can be affected somewhat by humidity and temperature. These have a minimal effect and therefore a specific gravity of 1 is normally used.

The air temperature in degrees Rankine.

The pressure available at the inlet of the system or component being evaluated in absolute terms.

The pressure drop across the system or component being evaluated when flow is at maximum (critical flow).

The pressure drop used in the calculation. This will be the lesser of the "Suggested Delta P" or the "Delta P Maximum Flow".

The pressure at the outlet of the system or component being evaluated in absolute terms.

The pressure at the outlet of the system or component being evaluated in gage terms.

The calculated flow through the system or component being evaluated.
